A note on aircraft-specific numbers. Every figure in these chapters, weights, speeds, quantities, limits, is drawn from one real, currently-flying 737-800 with winglets, filtered so the numbers are genuine rather than generic textbook placeholders. But these figures vary by registration and configuration across the fleet. Treat every number here as a realistic worked example, and always check what's printed for your own tail number before relying on it operationally.

How a chapter works

  1. Read the pages in order. A chapter is 4-10 short pages depending on how much the FCOM covers. Your place is saved as you go, so you can stop anywhere.
  2. Mark it up. Highlight or underline in four colours and write notes. Everything you save stays with the chapter.
  3. Study the real diagrams. Figures are either extracted straight from the FCOM's own schematics or real photos of the actual equipment, never a stylised cartoon standing in for the real thing.
  4. Clear the chapter check. Original questions follow the last page. A miss links straight back to the page it came from.
  5. Move on. Take the next chapter. Chapters build on each other far less than the ATPL/CPL ground-school subjects do, so it's fine to jump to the system you need first.
